I'm a student and need advice on degree courses that suit private equity jobs or just high paying ones?
My A-levels aren't great and i dont have a lot of ucas points to work with (160) but i can get onto some HND business studies courses and convert them to degree courses after the first year. Im interested in private equity with deal making etc. But i dont know what course to go for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated or what firms etc would be the best point of entry

- I've read your questions and answers and I am prepared to answer this question. Clearly, you do not have the brain power for a job in private equity of anything high-paying. I recommend that you join the Army and maybe they will make you a private and teach you how to guard a doorway. You could make a career out of guarding doorways.
- I think you're looking a bit further down the line there. To be a private equity investor, you need to have money and expertise to invest. To get all this money and expertise you really need to have had a successful business career running your own business otherwise you'll have no chance and nobody will take you seriously. If it gives you hope, I failed all four A levels but did an HND then a degree and (15 years later) now own my own manufacturing company so the world doesn't end with poor A level results. Possible routes would be pure Business Studies or Finance but I think it's better to have something with it e.g. I did Manufatcuring & Business Studies degree which tailored the business studies to a specific sector that I was interested in working in.
